good형용사 이고, well부사 이다.

비교

  • Your English is good. 그러나 You speak English well.
  • Daewon is a good pianist. 그러나 Daewon plays piano well.

well 은 과거분사와 함께 쓴다. ( good )
well dressed / well known / well educated / well paid

예문

  • Yoosimin is a well known writer.

well건강한 이라는 의미의 형용사로도 쓰임.

hardly: 거의 ...이 없음(아님): ( = very little, almost not)

  • We've only met once or twice. We hardly know each other.

hard 와 hardly 는 의미가 다름

  • He tried hard to find a job, but he had no luck.( 그는 굉장히 노력했다 )
  • I'm not suprised, he didn't find a job. He hardly tried to find one.( 그는 노력을 거의 안 했다 )

hardly + any... 형태로 많이 사용

  • A: How much money have we got?
    B: Hardly any.( 거의 없음 )
  • These two cameras are very similar. There's hardly any difference between them.
  • The results of the test were very bad. Hardly anybody in our class passed.

hardly 위치

  • She said hardly anything. 또는 She hardly said anything.
  • We've got hardly any money. 또는 We've hardly got any money.

can hardly: 거의 할 수 없음 / 거의 불가능함

  • Your writing is terrible. I can hardly read it.( 거의 읽을 수가 없음 )
  • My leg is hurting me. I could hardly walk.

hardly ever: 거의 ... 하지 않다( = almost never )

  • I'm nearly always at home at night. I hardly ever go out.

hardly: (전혀 ...가 아닌) 이라는 의미로도 사용

  • It's hardly surprising that you're tired. You haven't slept for three days.( 전혀 놀랍지 않음 )
  • The situation is serious, but it's hardly a crisis.( 전혀 위기가 아님 )
